Having battled our way past the Moose to the final series against the Wolves, a win here would have meant three Global Cup wins in a row.
After game ones 3-0 shutout win, hopes were high to sweep the series, however, a Wolves sweep wasn't what was in mind. The Wolves took the following five games with a 2-1 overtime loss in game 2, a 4-3 loss in game 3, a 4-1 loss in game 4, followed by the Global Cup winning 2-1 loss in game 5.
Congratulations to the Wolves for a well played season and series!

The Cobras are off to an amazing playoff start, moving through their first round with the Moose in five games. Round one seemed to be the round of shutouts for Merrik Caproni, game one went to the Cobras with a two-nothing shutout. Game two saw the Cobras fall 4-3 in a devastating overtime loss, while game three saw a 4-3 win. Games four and five allowed the Cobras to get back on track with a six-nothing and five-nothing win respectively.
Ashlene McMinnar and Nicholas Huillermeyer both showed up to play scoring some key goals to push the Cobras playoff quest forward. Huillermeyer leads the team in goals with 8, seconded by McMinnar's 6. Rookie forward Kei Frequency is the Cobras quiet offenseman, often defending from the front rather than pushing forward.
Defenders Abu Salazar and Sirkiko Vidor lead the league in +/-, both with an astounding +11. Isaac Calamity leads the league in assists with five, and netminder Merrik Caproni leads the league both in save percentage (92.86%) and goals against average (1.60).
With round one complete, it's now time for the Cobras to make history and take that cup home a third time!

The Season 9 Cobras set GOHA history with their 2nd consecutive regular season title. 3rd consecutive playoff finals appearance, and 2nd consecutive Global Cup. All league firsts, establishing themselves as the first and only true GOHA dynasty.
Each and every player put forth tremendous effort, teamwork, and resilience. It was another magical season for the team, one that was made that much more special because we had a new collection of faces. It's easy to continue success when the building blocks are the same, but when you have to lay a new foundation, it's ten fold more difficult.
I thank everyone who played for the Cobras in Season 9 and contributing to the rich history of the Cobra name.

I want to congratulate everyone on their outstanding effort Tuesday in our 3-1 victory over the Moose. Everyone has been nothing but fantastic on the ice and in carrying a positive attitude. We know stand alone, with some distance in first place, but the rest of the road will be an uphill battle. Let's keep plugging away the rest of the season and let the chips fall where they may.
