NEW TO GOHA? Click here! Send to Printer

Global Online Hockey Association (GOHA) was established in 2006 inside the virtual reality game of Second Life. Second Life, owned by Linden Lab, is a world made by its residents, otherwise known as avatars.
Second Life, SL, and inSL are trademarks of Linden Research, Inc. The Global Online Hockey Association is not affiliated with or sponsored by Linden Research.

What do I do to get started?

1. Sign up for this website. Be sure to indicate your avatar's name in the "First" and "Last" name areas once you've created a login and successfully logged into the site. You can do that by going to the upper right hand corner and choose "Your Schedule". You can then edit your website profile.  Be sure to include your home city or region!

2. Log in to Second Life. If you don't have a Second Life account, go to their website http://www.secondlife.com and create a free account. You will need to create an "avatar" (character) and enter the virtual world. Once you're inside and have figured out how to get around, go to the blue "Search" tab at the bottom of your screen, search under "Groups", and type in "Global Online Hockey Association". Hit the JOIN button. It's free.

3. Contact a GOHA Rookie Coach! They will help you get the right equipment and get your name on a list for rookie training and draft. For North America Rookies contact Katia Ixtab, SixString Burner, Kalita Magic, Ashlene McMinniar, MrC Sparta, Ozzy Loopen, Abu Salazar or Kei Frequency.    For the European Division contact Tuvok Dingson or Kacey Rossini. If it's easier for you, just IM the GOHA group. There's always someone online, and they can help you.

4. Come by the rink. The rink is located at the Jericho Hill sim. You can also find it under Search. All equipment is located by the rink and you can usually find people around. If you want to practice, the rink is always open, and you get pucks by hitting the bottom of the scoreboard (just over center ice).

5. Post on the forums here. This gives us a heads-up that you are new and looking for some help.  Leave any questions that you have and someone will help you!
